Smashing atoms is easy. Surviving your family is the real experiment.
Alice is a scientist at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, standing on the brink of the most significant discovery in history: the Higgs Boson. Her sister, Jenny, lives in Luton, sells insurance, and trusts Google more than she trusts experts.
When tragedy throws them together in Geneva, their worlds collide with the force of subatomic particles. As Alice tries to unlock the secrets of the universe, she struggles to stop her own family from imploding. Mosquitoes is a searing, funny, and heartbreaking exploration of sibling rivalry, the fragility of life, and the gap between knowing how the universe works and knowing how to live in it.
“It is nothing more than the force of two mosquitoes smashing into each other.”
